Rohan Raut
Founder, CEO & Chief Technical Officer
DroneStark Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
Rohan Raut is the Founder, CEO, and Chief Technical Officer of DroneStark Technologies Pvt. Ltd., an Indian UAV and robotics OEM based in Mumbai.
He is an engineer, inventor, patent-holder, and unmanned-systems builder whose work spans immersive media, camera robotics, drone engineering, defence UAVs, and autonomous platforms.
Before founding DroneStark, Rohan worked at the intersection of virtual reality filmmaking, advanced camera systems, and robotics. During his time with Memesys Culture Lab / ElseVR, he contributed to pioneering Indian VR projects including Yeh Ballet, Submerged, and When All Land Is Lost, Do We Eat Coal?. His early work in immersive media and camera movement systems shaped his understanding of machines that could move precisely, carry sensors, and operate in demanding real-world environments.
That experience became the foundation for DroneStark.
In 2019, Rohan founded DroneStark with the mission of building indigenous unmanned systems for India. As Founder and Chief Technical Officer, he has led the company’s platform architecture, product development, prototyping, field validation, payload integration, and manufacturing direction.
Under his leadership, DroneStark has developed UAV platforms including QuadraGlide, OctaGlide, and HexaGlide, serving applications across public safety, disaster response, defence, smart cities, infrastructure, industrial inspection, media, and specialized payload delivery.
Rohan’s technical work includes drone airframe architecture, carbon-fiber structures, propulsion integration, embedded systems, flight-control workflows, payload mounting, communication systems, ground-control interfaces, and mission-specific UAV customization. His patent work reflects DroneStark’s focus on original engineering rather than simple assembly.
DroneStark platforms have supported real-world use cases including police operations, flood response, public announcement missions, defence training support, target-drone applications, infrastructure inspection, and urban surveillance. These deployments have helped shape the company’s design philosophy: every system must be rugged, repairable, modular, and field-ready.
For Rohan, drones are not just flying cameras. They are mission platforms — tools that can reduce human risk, extend operational reach, and strengthen India’s technological self-reliance.
His long-term vision is to build DroneStark into a globally respected Indian OEM for UAVs, ground robotics, hydrogen fuel-cell endurance drones, autonomous systems, and next-generation unmanned platforms.
Through DroneStark, Rohan is working to build not only drones, but indigenous capability — designed, engineered, tested, and manufactured in India.
